If you're new to the world of peer-to-peer file sharing, downloading uTorrent is a great way to get started. uTorrent is a free, beginner-friendly BitTorrent client you can use to download applications, movies, books, games, and more from other people on the internet Downloading torrents can be risky, so make sure your computer has antimalware protection and the latest security updates. You'll also want to avoid downloading pirated movies, games, and other content, as doing so is illegal. This wikiHow article will teach you how to install uTorrent Classic and uTorrent Web on your PC or Mac, plus how to find and download torrents.

There was a torrent on my list that I deleted both the torrent + Data. Upon trying to download the torrent again later,I get the message: "The torrent you are trying to add is already in the list of torrents. Do you want to load the trackers from it?" No, the torrent is not in the list of torrents. It is not showing in the program itself, and I have checked both the folders where data and torrents are saved to ensure the files are not there. I have rebooted, rechecked, and the problem still exists. I have uTorrent 2.2 on W7 64bit

This happened while I was debugging something under VS2010 while downloading torrents, an unrelated program that, incidentally, made no use of sockets. It only happened when I was running the debugger, and it happened twice, though not a third time, so I can't reliably reproduce it.

I installed the 64 bit version, 3.0, build 25570, and behold!, it showed the phantom torrents and let me delete them from the ListView. Indeed, the 32 bit version had retained them as if they were present and active, even though I had deleted all traces of the torrents and their associated downloads from the disk. The logger showed a bunch of attempted connections for those torrents and a corresponding number of disconnects (I'd overlooked checking that on the 32 bit version's logger, however.)

I had this same problem...I just opened the sidebar using F7, expanding the Torrents section, and then expanded the Labels section. The torrent was under the Hidden label. I clicked on the torrent to bring it into the main screen and then right clicked and removed the torrent + data. I then redownloaded the torrent and it works fine. Hope this helps.

Torrents, or more specifically the BitTorrent protocol, got traction around 2001, when Bram Cohen, dissatisfied with the average download speed online (since it was coming from a single source), designed a system that would download from everyone possessing the required file, thus making more popular files actually faster to download.

You might see your torrents not downloading anymore or stuck on connecting to peers. Your download speed could drop to zero. You might even see some specific errors coming from your torrent client or antivirus software. The following steps will help you resolve all these situations in no time.

Normally, when you find a torrent file online, it will tell you how many people are seeding it at the moment. If you see that the number is considerably lower during the download, you can try to pause and start the download, or even delete your current torrent file and try to do the whole process again from the torrent website.

Folx is a powerful download manager and torrent client in one. Just search for a file or input a URL, and Folx will download whatever file might be on the other end, be it music, video, or a book. Folx can also be up to 20 times faster than regular downloaders, since it breaks down the file in up to 20 parts and downloads them separately at the same time.

As you can see, torrents not downloading can be a problem, but with a methodical approach, you can get those files on your Mac in no time. Simply turn off the firewall and scan your Mac for viruses with CleanMyMac X, remove download limits on your torrent client, try using a high-quality torrent client like Folx to search for other torrent files, and route your traffic around your network restrictions with ClearVPN.

qBittorrent is a cross-platform free and open-source BitTorrent client that can help users download content off the internet. This program is available on many operating systems, including Windows, Linux, macOS, ArcaOS, etc.

To be specific, the seeders are people who have completely downloaded the torrent data and are sharing it by seeding it to other people who are downloading it. If there are no seeders available to connect, then nothing can be downloaded and the torrent stalled qBittorrent error displays.

According to a survey, the qBittorent stalled error can occur due to a variety of causes. The main reason is that there are no or very few seeders connected to qBittorrent. In addition, misconfigured settings, low disk space, incorrect tracker URL, antivirus or Windows Firewall interference, and a temporary glitch are also responsible for the qBittorrent not downloading issue.

Also, right-click the shortcut and select Properties, and then go to the Compatibility tab and tick the checkbox for Run this program as an administrator, and click on Apply and OK to save the change. Then you can re-download the torrent data and see if the stalled status disappears.

To do so, you can right-click the affected torrent file from the list and select Delete, and then tick the checkbox for Also delete the files on the hard disk and press OK to confirm it. After that, you can add it again by selecting File from the top menu and clicking on Add Torrent File. Then you can check if it downloads without the error.

If you still get the qBittorrent stalled error message, you can try performing a forced resume of the downloading process. To resume downloading, you can right-click the stalled torrent file and select Force Resume. Then your torrent file should resume downloading.

If there are very few numbers of seeders available, you can try reconnecting to seeders by inserting torrents in qBittorent, and then the downloading speed may recover a bit. If many seeders are available here, you can try restarting the qBittorent client and using the Force Resume option.

If none of the above methods work, you may consider performing a clean reinstallation of the app. To do so, you need to delete all data related to qBittorrent in File Explorer, including saved preferences, saved torrents, downloaded torrent data, etc. Then you can uninstall the program in App and Features section. Once uninstalled, you can re-download it from the official website.

This started happening randomly, all downloads stop right after getting their metadata with a "checked 0.0%" message. Closing and restarting the client may start the first download in the list, but that's also random.

One suggestion I found was to delete %AppData%\utorrent\resume.dat. The first time I fired up the client after I deleted it everything worked fine but then the file was recreated and I was back where I started.

a work around that seems to work for me is to stop all torrents, start them again then exit UTorrent - go to your AppData/Roaming folder under your user folder and delete all the .old files then restart UTorrent - all of my 6 downloads running now.

.. it's just a nightmare. :-/ Torrent(s) can NOT be stopped, during the check, and deleting .old files doesn't bypass the check. I have it not to auto-start downloads, so they can be launched one-at-a-time; but, it's ridiculous having to wait a few minutes every-so-often (and only one HDD, so the system is pretty much locked during that time)

While you download your file a progress bar with will show your download for each file once you have it entirely you have see how many people you are seeding to each person and how fast you are uploading to that person.

To filter which torrents are shown on your list use the Show drop down menu. To only show active torrents from the Show drop down select Active. To only show torrents that are downloading from the Show menu select Downloading. To only show seeding torrents from the Show drop down select Seeding. To only show Paused torrents from the Show drop down select Paused. To show only Finished torrents from the Show menu select Finished. To only show torrents that are verifying from the Show drop down select Verifying. To only show torrents that are in an error state from the Show menu select Error. To go back to showing all torrents from the Show menu select All.

The Peers tab shows you what other peers that also have the torrent open. To see how much data you are getting from a particular peer see the Up column. To add your column showing how much data you are downloading from a peer read the Down column. To see the address of your peers and read the Address column. To see what client other peers are using the Client column. The Tracker tab shows information of where the torrent is being tracked.
